Japanese Braiding

My new hobby

I discovered Kumihimo in 2012 and loved it from the beginning.
What do I like about it? So many things, but one of the best is its portability. It's done on a styrofoam disk and fits right in my purse. The patterns and colors make for unending variations, and I keep learning more.
Kumihimo has been a great discovery.

Kumihimo History

Wikipedia says:
Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braid-making. Cords and ribbons are made by interlacing strands. Kumi himo is Japanese for "gathered threads".
