Pecan Pie Surprise

1 yellow cake mix (reserve 2/3
cup)
1/2 C. melted butter
1 egg
Filling
2/3 C reserved cake mix
1/2 C. brown sugar
1 1/2 C. dark Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 C chopped pecans
Grease bottom and sides of 9x13
pan.
Mix top ingredients and press
into pan.
Bake 15-20 min. at 350.
Prepare filling pour over crust.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Bake 30-35 min. until set.
